HOW TO MAKE MINT JULEPS ON DERBY DAY Mint julep is an alcoholic drink or cocktail, consisting primarily of bourbon, sugar, water, crushed or shaven ice, and fresh mint. The Mint Julep is the cuisine of The Kentucky Derby. Ingredients: 1 tsp. powdered sugar 2 oz. Bourbon Whiskey 2 tsps. water 4 mint leaves   In a highball glass gently muddle the mint, sugar and water. Fill the glass with cracked ice, add Bourbon and stir well until the glass is well frosted.
