Milk tea is a combination of strong tea and rich creamy milk. Milk tea can be prepared both hot or cold. You may add to the tea to experience different flavors.
Ingredients for Hot Milk Tea
- 4 ounces to 6 ounces of water
- 2 to 3 teaspoons of loose leaf tea or 2 tea bags
- 4 ounces of whole milk or 2% milk
- 1 to 2 teaspoons of honey or sugar
Ingredients for Iced Milk Tea
- 2 bags of tea
- 4 ounces to 6 ounces of water
- 4 ounces of sweetened condensed milk
- 4 to 6 ounces of ice
Add water to a tea kettle and heat until it reaches the boil point
Place the tea leaves or tea bags into a teapot and pour boiling water over them
Allow the tea to steep 1 to 5 minutes
Gradually add milk (do not add all at once causing it to be watery)
Strain the tea into your teacup or mug
Add honey or sugar to your tea
For an iced Milk Tea:
After your tea steeps, add sweetened condensed milk to the hot tea
Fill a glass with ice
Pour the tea over the ice
